Harvest Bible Chapel Denver (HBCD) purchased this 75,000 SF church property in Englewood, Colorado in November 2013. By late 2015, HBCD had a vision to expand to multiple sites around the metro Denver area. To record and share their sermons with these future other sites, HBCD needed to upgrade the sound system and make acoustical changes in the existing worship center. Developco assisted HBCD with the preparation of a capital campaign leading to successfully raising nearly $2M in less than 90 days, and ultimately $2.25M before the project construction was completed.
In April 2016, Developco led a $2.25M interior renovation of the worship center (stage, seating, AVL) and lobby. Developco led HBCD through strategic planning, team selection, design & engineering, construction, FF&E and AVL installation. Developco created and managed the master schedule and logistics plan for relocating the church into its temporary worship area (multi-purpose room). Developco coordinated all building modifications including the installation of the upgraded sound system, theatrical lighting, and projection screens.
With Developco’s involvement, HBCD was able to save $85,000 or 71% of the owner’s rep fee. This included $40,000 on the purchase of fixed seats, $10,000 in costs to remove the pews, $20,000 by recommending changing from porcelain tile flooring in the lobby to a concrete micro-topping, and $15,000 by recommending replacing the proposed new curtains with motorized, translucent rolling shades.
Developco was able to find another church to take 33% of the pews and HBCD then donated 25% of the pews to another faith-based non-profit ministry.
“When I grew up, I was taught the saying “quality will long be remembered after price is forgotten”. We’ve been so thrilled with the work that CFS has done. This is one of the best decisions we’ve made to invest. What small percentage of money we were able to give to CFS has paid huge dividends for us in this project.”
